Borosil Renewables Ltd.

Borosil Renewables Limited is the first solar glass manufacturer in India. The company recognized the opportunities in this segment quite early and started its solar glass manufacturing facility in Bharuch, Gujarat state, India in January 2010. In the last 5 years, PV installations and module production have grown exponentially worldwide. To meet the growing demand, Borosil Renewables recently expanded and more than doubled its existing high-performance solar glass production capacity to 6 GW per year.

The company places great emphasis on innovation and is known for its pioneering achievements, such as developing the world's first fully toughened solar glass with a thickness of 2 mm, solar glass with the lowest iron content that offers the highest glass efficiency, and the first company in the world to successfully remove the most hazardous substance - "antimony" - from its solar glass. The company has other product portfolio, such as Selene: a glare-free solar glass suitable for PV installations near airports, and Shakti: a very high-efficiency solar glass with a frosted finish. Upcoming products with improved properties include solar glass with anti-soiling coating.
